People living today are very fortunate. Fifty years ago, the internet did not even exist, and cable TV was something you read about in sci-fi magazines. Now, thanks to the internet, you can get information on just about anything you want, instantly. Something that was just a dream 10 years ago.
Yet all this knowledge we have, people are still failing to succeed in life. Why is this? After all, there is plenty of self-help available to tell us how to succeed, but many people still fail to achieve success. And why do people still suffer from depression, when there are so many books that tell them how to live a healthy life?
The fact is, knowledge is not a problem. And no matter how technologically advanced, people will always have the same problems.
What Causes People to Succeed?
If you ask someone why he did not succeed in what he was trying to do, he will probably tell you that it was someone else's fault or something beyond his control. However, if you compare that person's life with another person's life, you can probably find many examples of people who suffered under extreme conditions but who are still successful.
This shows us that the real reason people fail is not because of something "outside" of them, but rather because of internal reasons.
Internal Reasons for Failure
If you continue to do one thing over and over again, it is called habit. You are probably familiar with bad habits, such as smoking, but are you familiar with failure or success?
Creating Success Practices
Just as success or failure is ultimately determined by the actions you take, so habits play a vital role in determining whether you will achieve success or failure in life. If you read every day, that's a habit This practice is likely to increase your knowledge of the subject, and greatly improve your chances of learning well and succeeding in it.
However, suppose instead of reading it every day, you would rather sit down and watch TV for a few hours, do you think this will help you to learn any lesson? Or become an expert in your field? Most likely, the answer will be no
